Notes:
-Obviously having 3x of one card is a rule best not broken and MASTER OF ARMS is a good candidate to drop, but I like Boba having at least one surprise big defense, plus the damage will help him win games, and I think with so many good tricks he doesn't need a 3x.
-GRAPPLING LINE is another good candidate to drop, but I like it because it's different and it combos with JET PACK even if that's is a combo that won't happen in most games.
-I gave Slave 1 a red deck because it's different and I feel like a ship should be tougher than the usual minor. Again, something that should probably be dropped in a second draft.
Wow that is funny. Was also sitting at this deck and having my thoughts and have to say I came up with most of the same solutions or conclusions as you did. It is really a tricky deck as there are probably too many ideas for one deck to really work smoothly.
Only significant difference I came up with, was that I would keep the Slave 1 uniqueness of this deck and not turn the ship in just any other minor character. FOR ME this would destroy any intrigue to test this deck. But this beeing said, maybe than all the cards and the whole theme should be centered more around the interaction between Boba and his ship. Maybe I will try to do this. But definately would result in completely new cards.
As it is I only changed Boba's basic deck to a yellow+ as you did and gave Slave 1 a strong deck. Removing again, all defense values as in my version the Ship also would be invincible. So opponents can't destroy it, but it is not too strong, with only 1x A4. The creator of the deck probably had a similar idea, as he used a weak deck and just removed all the A1's as he probably thought 4x A1 would be a waste. I beleive the 2x A1 now present (in my version) are okay and can work to pull some defense cards from the defender.
I made only one other small change, I took away the JET PACK and gave him a second FLAME JET and included 4 spaces of movement in it. Just to do something different than you ;)
But I will probably go back to the drawing board and try to come up with something that emphasises the Slave 1 - Boba Fett dynamic more. But probably have to start from scratch for that.
True that about this being a tricky deck. I do like the idea of maintaining the uniqueness of Slave 1, but I personally wanted something more traditional so that's why I went what I did. I think you would be best off just pursing that idea in a deck of your own rather than trying to do it with the cards already here.
As it is, I'm honestly thinking of doing something a little different with this deck. Because, if I want to play a Boba deck I'll either use the Geektopia tweaks one or play Mike Maloney's deck, but you know which character is a clone of Boba Fett (other way round actually), but doesn't have a good deck? Jango Fett. Since they're basically the same guy I don't think it would be a bad idea to give this deck a face lift and make it Jango Fett and Slave 1.
That is a great idea. Just lately thought the same thing, that Jango only has this ome deck.
I actually had the fighting scene btw. Jango and Obi-Wan from Attack of the Clones in mind when thinking about this unique deck idea.
I will definately give it a shot. Already have some ideas in mind. 😀
All credit goes to tokyotalks2much for making the original of this deck (and for making it look so good); with these tweaks I'd say it is a complete and fully functionally deck if a bit on the weak side (although maybe no weaker than original Boba). That being said, I think you might be better off playing umondy's version of these deck (which is Jango instead of Boba), but this one still works just fine.
