Cool deck, especially like the idea how to implement the ranged attack for Grivieous. Like so many times before I feel stupid for not coming up with this idea myself. It really is a cooler way than just play a power attack face up to attack ranged or at least it gives the deck designer another option to implement that.

While I like the way the card plays, it's extremely weak. It adds nothing to the deck besides a ranged capability and that's not worth a card slot, IMO. You need every card to add attack value or damage or movement or something. As is, you have to play 2 cards just to do what you can normally do with one.

At least make it A2*, play face up, acts as a ranged attack, and then can add another basic card -- something like that and then it adds 2 points of attack value. So, even if you don't have another basic card to play, it's still a usable card on its own.

With the blaster shot card u get to draw a card...so it essentially replenishes itself rather than the player being two cards down. The one card u r down is the normal attack card that u would've been down anyways had u used it as a normal melee attack. The way this deck is built...it's been played(thought that's anecdotal evidence) and it seems well balanced as far as Grievous' character goes. He has three attack 7s(similar to Dooku), 2 defense cards called cowardly retreat where he basically switches places with Magna guards and takes no damage, 2 movement cards for him and his magna guards. In addition his magna guards are at the same level as the emperor's royal guards with 5 up. IMO this deck is fine as is...however feel free to change it if u wish...and who knows...u might come up with something amazing. I will soon be uploading .PSD(or sharing a Google Drive link) here for this(the cards u see in Grievous deck here). I've created it in a way that requires minimal Photoshop knowledge.

Off topic...I don't currently have the game with me(the actual table top game). I need exact dimensions of the cards so I can add the bleed in the .PSD files. Can anyone provide me with exact dimensions of the character cards and the damage markers?

Funny thing, after reading the deck again today I came away with the same feeling before even reading your response.
I found outßt the hard way myself that it is really tough to get a deck or card going if it depends on having other cards like basic combats in the first place. You usually need lots of drawing power to always have enough cards and options to combo available. Like your suggestion a lot. This way you can combo the card even with a weaker basic attack and it still has good value.

I uploaded .PSD files(shared Google Drive links) under the Component Design section. If u have Photoshop could u test it out if it is somewhat easy to create new character cards following the directions written on that page? If not then I'll probably have to create a "tutorial" of sorts. The goal is to enable anyone even with no prior knowledge of Photoshop to be able to easily create character cards. I was hoping for some feedback...but so far got nothing.

Hey sorry for not getting back on you sooner. Fpr me personally I don't have any use for it. I create my templates with the deck designer and then mod it the way I like it with Photoshop. As 90% of my printed decks have that deck designer look I would like to keep it that way. But besides that I think it is a great idea and probably of use for somebody who is just beginning to create and print decks. I am just not sure if this does not already exist because I definately downloaded something similar a few years ago.
Have to admit though your templates look great and it is very easy to use them to create cards! I just tried them out...

Yeah I'm definitely not taking credit for the design elements...these were very graciously given to me by Scott Hagarty like 7 or 8 years ago. They were just images...I had to slice and dice a few things to make it editable to the point where hopefully it should be easy to modify and create new cards. Way back when Scott gave me these I created a whole lot of custom decks for Grievous, Qui Gon, Ki Adi, Plo Koon, IG88, Dengar, and a whole bunch more. I would be uploading those here as well. I personally love the strategy built into dengar's deck(though it's not originally mine...I just tweaked a few things).

Also consider the mechanics in Mike Maloney's Boba Fett deck: direct damage that can be reduced by discarding a defense card. It's one of my go to mechanics when I have a melee character who also attacks from range.

I also like "Character may attack at range this turn. This card does not count as an action." But be responsible with that one...

Also the same question for u...as I asked above to Roman. If u happen to have the epic duels game nearby...could u measure the exact dimensions of the cards from the character's deck? And the dimensions of the damage markers thing. I don't have the game with me right now and I couldn't find the exact dimensions online anywhere.

Darth Ayan, the HP Charts are 11 1/2 CM (4 3/4 inches) wide and 11.2 CM (4 1/2 inches) tall. The cards are 7 CM (2 3/4 inches) tall and 4.9 CM (2 inches) wide.

Could you(or anyone else here reading this) print out the cards(the .PSD files I uploaded on the Component Design page) and verify if the dimensions match. There is a 1mm bleed so take that into account...and if possible try to cut the bleed part to match the exact card dimensions u provided me with. I tried it a few times on my printer...but I would like some fresh pair of eyes and more testing. So if u or anyone reading this could try it out and let me know that would be great.

Love both ideas, especially the second one. Have never seen or used that one. The 1st i ne is also just fine only problem I have, defender always knows what will hit him and can defend accordingly. So you loose the surprise on that one.
