Hey Wolverine, it's awesome you already made Decks for Kylo and Rey. I'm really glad to see there are still fans of the game out there.
I already downloaded your two new decks and will take a closer look later today.
Do you have any ideas/suggestions regarding miniatures to use in the game? Aren't there some Micro Machines figures from TFA we could use, I'm not completely sure, that's why I'm asking...

I would use a Darth Revan figure for Kylo Ren, or a Sith Marauder or Jensaari Defender are cheaper options.

Revan obviously is way to expensive but I definately will check out your other suggestions. Thanks.

I sincerely hope you enjoy the two decks, though I suspect Kylo Ren will defeat Rey most of the time unless she can get her cards in the right order.
I unfortunately don't have a lot of suggestions for miniatures; the Micro Machines are probably the best bet though. I do know there's a Star Wars Monopoly edition with surprisingly detailed minis of Kylo and Finn (and Luke and Vader) at most retailers.

Has this been tested? If so is it balanced? 39 damage on specials with an additional 8 unblockable seems a bit much. I understand there is some discarding but still, might be overkill. I want to try this deck out as I'm excited for the new movie coming out, but this might need to get balanced some more. I really like the idea of I will finish what you started.
Maybe making the three 7 attacks into a 5 would help, then reduce the 4 unblockable to 2. Especially since it also makes that player discard two. Otherwise nice job with the decks.

Kylo Ren is designed to be a sluggo at about the power level of original Obi-Wan Kenobi or Geektopia's Darth Vader, Jedi Hunter deck, but to answer some questions.

Kylo has very poor defenses, no mobility, and very low, very specific drawing power. "I Will Finish" is useless with a full hand and the direct damage cards only work against adjacent enemies. "What You Started" has literally zero defense, so playing it is a huge gamble.

He will do very well against most decks one on one, but I think he's going to have a tough time against any shooter deck and any deck with strong minors that can gang up and run through his poor defensive cards.

My own preference is to wait for the movie to come out before designing decks for these characters. That stated, while this Kylo deck is an absolute beast 1v1, I think he'd be just OK in 2v2. His lack of movement, Red deck and lackluster defense mean he wouldn't last long if ganged up on in a 2v2 game if both opponents had decent offense. He would benefit from some healing or something, but you might just leave as is so he wouldn't be overly powerful. He's probably a low-Tier 1/high-Tier 2 deck in 2v2.

That's about where I wanted him, so I'm glad he worked out at that level. Everything I've read about the character makes him seem like a very angry, unstable person who wouldn't bother with strategy, just overwhelming force, and the deck is designed to reflect that.

I will probably create a new version of the deck once the movie comes out and I have some more quotes to work with (Dark Side Disciple in particular is a placeholder title) but the deck works about as I intended. By design, he's patterned off of Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker.

Rome, you mind probe card is outstanding. I like the idea of the defender choosing 3 and having to do some math and calculate what cards to reveal and what to hold for a random discard. It captures the mental struggle well. I like this deck the best so far. One thing I remember you saying is there a clear path to victory or is it just a collection of good cards. I'm going to review your deck some more.

A couple minor things rome. I would abbreviate on the scorecard the word First to 1st so Troopers isnt chopped. I think the contrast for the two colors on the scorecard should be higher and for the basic trooper cards as well. Then, the card back should be improved. It has tie fighters and no troopers. The deck seems to have a discard theme and support a PTV. Well done.

Rome, I think Mind Probe is more of a novalty than Force Restrain. I would consider going to 1 Mind Probe (better named Probe Mind) and have 3 Force Restrain's. I would also consider changing the name of Trained Attack to Dark Side Strike.

Or Dark Surge along the lines of Maul's Athletic Surge

Roman F said

Yeah that's probably a better name, I'm not crazy about TRAINED ATTACK as a card name.
MIND PROBE works on minors so I'm going to keep the card mix the way it is, most likely.

After I saw the amazing deck by Geektopia I have to ask again for the miniature he is using. On the Geektopia website he clearly has pictures from Kylo, Rey and Finn miniatures. Are they all custom made or repaints?

Yeah BB-8 is the toughie. You can get away with a SWM R5-D4 droid but the ck micro machines one is great. They make the other TFA figs too but I'm happy with Leia BH and the Star Wars Monopoly figs.

Well, firstly, I don't post often - and I'm not a huge fan of posting to a character that already has a gazillion decks. But here, I'm vouching mainly for a friend's design, not my own, and I think it is worth posting. Less confident in my own changes to the deck.

So, I (Kutcel) have with permission have implemented a design for Kylo taken from one of my friends who made a deck for Lucina (Fire Emblem), which has had a significant amount of play (depending on who you ask, somewhere between mid-high and high tier). Besides ascetic changes (obviously not gonna use the same pictures, card names), the original changes from the Lucina deck are:
1) Kylo has 2 defense specials instead of 3. Defense value is changed to 5 instead of 6.
2) Added one card: 'Let the Past Die' - All players discard all cards from hand. ---------------- This is my one huge change and if you hate it, fair enough, because this card has not seen play. No idea if it would work in practice. Just thought thematically it fits.
3) Kylo has 2 less hp.
4) Minors for Kylo are ranged, but have weaker normal cards and 1 less hp.

The original Lucina deck was definately aggressive. The combination of 'Finish What You Started' and 'Sith Endurance' made it so the deck is always in the game and very unpredictable. Characters with good attack movement -especially the classic ranged fliers prototype (like Jango) - HATE 'Force Control'. 'Mind Read' in practice increases the utility of 'Force Control'. Very confrontational combo.

The one original card I have had mixed sentiments towards is 'Rage'. Not sure how to change this to best fit Kylo but very open to suggestions.
