Lowbacca

Lowbacca (meaning "dutiful friend") or "Lowie" was a Wookiee Jedi Knight during the Yuuzhan Vong War. He was the nephew of Chewbacca, the son of Kallabow and Mahraccor, and the brother of Sirrakuk. He studied at Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum and was a companion of Jaina Solo, Jacen Solo and Tenel Ka. He wielded a bronze-bladed lightsaber.

I'm still surprised how many prominent characters never got some love by the ED community especially as the community was at it's top during the haysay of the now called Legends Universe. No problem, I put a little thought in to it and created the first Lowbacca deck. Hope somebody besides me likes it. :D

Good idea! There's good art for Lowbacca out there, plus many Wookiee melee fighting miniatures to choose from. It should be easy enough to mod one of them for a lightsaber.

How's this deck play overall? I've been needing a Jedi Wookie deck and I like what you've got here. Offensively he seems pretty strong, but I feel he could get beat fairly easy with a fairly low defense (aside from the 2 power combat cards) so it seems to balance out a bit.

Hey sorry didn't see your post before.
Actually have to admit he definitely needs a fix. Played him several times know and somehow the deck plays lije a beta version. Some nice ideas but not well rounded overall. I will try to make some modifications so the deck plays smoother.

Updated the whole Lowbacca deck to a much more playable and fun version. Now the specials should work much more hand in hand. He received some movement abilities to get his opponents in position for MIGHTY SWING and LIGHTSABER SWEEP now is a plain DD card that is not tied to any crazy hard to accomplish stioulations. He also got a little more drawing power which should help also.

This version is actually a really strong, Tier 1 type of deck. He's got tough minors and 2 outstanding power defense cards to support his ability to manipulate the entire board with WOOKIEE TRAP -- so he's a tank with board control capabilities, kind of like Obi-Wan, only with less defense but better offense, including direct damage. I love MIGHTY SWING but you might reduce it to A6 and CLEAVE to A5 and even then, I think he's really strong. I might water down WOOKIEE TRAP by not letting Lowbacca move but you can try it out first.

Not sure if you overestimnate him. At least before the change he never survived a match. Without movement he was just a sitting duck getting in position to land MIGHTY SWING. His health is pretty low and if you are not lucky and his two power defenses are in the lower third of the draw pile, he can't defend anything. So I wouldn't take away his new found mobility. I played around a bit with his power attacks though and came to the conclusion to scale down CLEAVE to an A5 and reduce MS to a A4/A7. So now he still has to "earn" his biggest attacks and he can't just attack twice with A7 using only one action (like he could before). If this turns out too strong I will go with an A3/A6 MS. But I'd rather err on the side of a bit stronger because he is a Wookiee Jedi and nobody wants to play weak ass decks that can't kill anybody :)

Tank-like decks have to sacrifice offense or be overpowered. One thing I didn't take into account is his unique basic deck, which I see doesn't have much defense. So, he might not be quite the tank that 2 Power D + Strong Minors would normally make a deck into, but he still looks pretty tank-like to me. If he's not such a tank then the offense makes sense. Again, though, WOOKIEE TRAP is such a powerful card, and to some degree, negates his lack of movement.
