CRFR787

CRFR787 only recently (early 2021) discovered this wiki, but has been a long-time fan of Epic Duels.  Shortly after the game came out, he and his brothers found it on a discount shelf at Target or Walmart (for around $9.99) and bought a copy.  One week later (and after many sleepless nights playing the game) they pooled their money, returned to the store, and purchased every remaining copy on the shelf, with plans to modify the figures and create decks for pretty much every Star Wars character in existence.

In addition to creating dozens of characters, and (eventually) printing out new characters created by the nascent Epic Duels online community, CRFR787 and his brothers made themselves as characters in the game—through a process that combined playing Star Wars Life: Path of the Jedi multiple times, and accumulating “Light Side” and “Dark Side” points that could be spent (with a complicated point system no one recalls anymore) to create special cards mirroring and combining the effects of the originals.

This Star Wars Life/Epic Duels combination, predictably, led to the creation of some of the most haphazardly-designed Epic Duels decks in existence.  One of CRFR787’s brothers, who wanted a direct damage deck to rival the Emperor, spent nearly all of his Star Wars Life points on 5 Force Lightning equivalent cards, leaving him only a few points left to add effects to the remainder of his 7 special cards.  He settled on a “Draw one card” effect for all of those cards, thus creating perhaps the most counterproductive Epic Duels special card in history (which CRFR787 called “Lose Power” in homage to the Dooku “Gain Power” card).

After a long break from Epic Duels (college, grad school, and real life intervened), in 2021 CRFR787 acquired another copy of the game (the originals having been sold/given away and lost many years before) and decided to try making a few new and original decks.  He is continually amazed at how Epic Duels deck design has advanced since the early days of the Yahoo group, and is interested in continuing to push the envelope with new design ideas.

CRFR787's original decks (50 and counting (yes, he went a little overboard)) can be found linked here, or at his own PBWorks site:  CRFR787's Custom Characters

Would love to help you take some of your decks to the same design level as DT duels let me know if you are interested.
