Tusken Raiders

Also known as Sand People, these nomadic Tatooine dwellers shoot at Anakin Skywalker's podracer, capture Shmi Skywalker, are slaughtered by a more adult Anakin and many years later attack Luke Skywalker. Their hostility towards others and their encounters with key Star Wars individuals make them perfect for an Epic Duels deck.  For more on Tusken Raiders, go here.

This is version 2.0 after feedback from others. This is a powerful deck which can definitely be beaten. The previous version suffered against shooters, so this new version is tweaked. The last four trials it lost to Solo/Chewie, then beat Solo/Chewie, lost to Vader but beat Palpatine. The key to beating this deck is to get all the Tusken Raiders down to minimal HP instead of killing them one by one, in order to prevent Reinforcements as much as possible. The key to winning with this deck is in choosing when to mount and dismount the Bantha, and getting in the best sniper shot. Enjoy!

I really liked the concept. It reminds me of the Clone Phalanx deck. I liked the reinforcement cards but I think I'd like to see more than just 3 raiders on the board at once. I think it would be great to have 5 (strenght in numbers). This would provide you with more life and it would disregard the need to make the raiders basic combat max def. (green deck) I would play test a ranged attacker deck because techically you are using a melee deck to represent them. (I see that you tryed to make this fit by putting penalties on them for longer ranged attack.) I thought you're rules were neat but it I think its best to avoid curcomstancial rules that slow down the game because people argue over distances like diagonals and such. It also makes the deck harder to just pick up and play. For the avid fans of the game it might not be a problem though. To avoid all the rules about the deck I would try to find a proper basic combat card set. (a ranged attacker basic card set would be proper)

The Disarm card was good but I don't see a tusken raider disarming any jedi or sith. I would maybe go for a different card like a retreat card to avoid the damage or something along those lines. You imposed penalties for shooting from ranged but you have a Sniper shot card in the deck. I reminds me of another card from mara jades deck. Ambush might be a better name for the sniper shot card since you said they aren't accurate shooters. Overall a great addition to the Starwars epic duels community. This deck has great potential and i'm glad you came up with the idea to create it. My email is Priz02@yahoo.com. send me a message if you want a copy of the clone phalanx deck. ( I'm not sure who made it but it is very impressive and you could learn from some of its mechanics.)
p.s do the tusken raiders really fight off their bantha's ?

I'm such an idiot. When I updated this deck (the version here is version 3), I forgot to update the info. Based on suggestions made in the forum, I've taken out the distance penalties - as you say it just makes the game a bit trickier. The rules for mounting and dismounting the Bantha, and rules for Bantha penalties etc still apply. I'll make the changes shortly. In testing, this made the deck more playable and actually very fun. Still beatable, but strong.
I have to admit that the design was informed by the number of Minis that I have - two on foot and one on a Bantha. That's where the Reinforcements card, which is the staple of this deck along with Gaffi Stick, came from... I didn't have enough minis. As it is, playing against it it's incredibly frustrating when you've got them down to 1 Tusken Raider with 1 damage left and they play Reinforcements, meaning the game is still very much on.
Do they really fight off their Banthas? I don't know, but the Mini seems to suggest that they do.
I do understand the idea of a Tusken Raider disarming Yoda is unlikely. If I do a version 4, that might well be the change I make although I have to admit printing all these cards is costing me a fortune in ink so I might keep it as it is!
Thanks for the feedback.

lol yeh I've spent like 400 dollars. When play testing your own decks just write them out on index cards then when you have a final product you didn't wast 30-40 dollars.

i'm working on tweaking my Exar deck atm. I also have a ulic deck that I have been working on for a year practically. I think it will be a great deck but I need to get it on index cards and play test it to see what needs balancing. The first time i used it the deck had no drawing power and its mechanic was flawed. It was worse than playing with luke skywalker.
