Seriously, no one ever made a Wedge deck? Considering his presence in the movies and major role in the EU, I would've expected someone to take a crack at it. I'm tempted to try myself, but I'm honestly not that familiar with the character in the EU beyond the Rogue Squadron games... What is he capable of outside of the cockpit? That seems like the major hurdle in figuring out cards for him.

I beleive thats his major problem, he has no value without his X-Wing ;)

There is a wedge deck in Epic Ground Battles expansion based on the Hoth invasion and snow speeders. So it has been done before. Your deck would fit in the Epic Space Battles expansion which is not complete.

I suppose it would, though I designed the deck around the idea of Wedge applying squadron tactics in on-foot combat; upon re-examination, however, for the most part the deck works just as well (if not a bit better) applied to actual dogfighting. Y-WING BOMBING RUN is the only card that doesn't really make much sense in an aerial combat context (why would starfighters be affected by a craft bombing the ground?), and honestly I'm not sure how the card could be adapted to space combat (cluster bombs, maybe?).

While the deck strikes me as perhaps too generic for a set designed around the idea of space combat, you're free to use and adapt it for your own set if you wish.

VASSAL version up now. I don't use VASSAL (I use Tabletop Simulator), but since it's been the program of choice for the Epic Duels community, I figured I should upload a VASSAL version. Located at X 2345, Y 2366.

Can you tell me about the tabletop simulator and how it works?

Well, here's the Steam page for it: http://store.steampowered.com/app/286160/

Essentially, it's a physics sandbox geared towards playing board games. It's not free, and it's much more intensive to run than something like VASSAL, but it's probably the closest you can get to a tabletop experience without VR or actually playing at a tabletop. Has strong modding support, so you can play pretty much anything in it (the only thing I can think that wouldn't really work would be games with stuff like electronic speakers essential for play - and in at least one case, someone's worked around that anyway). It's what got me back into Epic Duels after not playing since my elementary school days.

Thank you so much for making a Wedge deck. There are actually quite a few ancillary characters that still need some love, Wedge being a prime example.

There was an old Ackbar-Wedge deck that was actually quite popular, don't know what ever happened to it.

I like Freaky's idea to create a Wedge with X-Wing Pilots deck that uses X-Wing squadron moves on foot. Obviously you could apply this to a spaceships game but that doesn't mean you couldn't do it as a standard Epic Duels deck.

Really enjoyed the ideas behind this deck. I've recently been trying to find different Minor Characters for Luke Skywalker because I prefer to have Leia as a Major in my games. Would you mind terrible if I took some ideas from this deck to make a Luke and Wedge deck? Just thought I'd be courteous and ask first.

Thanks, sariadog! Definitely some more characters that could do with a deck, though I don't think I would be the one to do those; Wedge just stood out to me as a particularly glaring absence and I happened to come up with ideas for the deck pretty much instantly.

And feel free, Wolverine! I can't imagine any good reason to take issue with it; not like I can really claim ownership of game mechanics that have been used a million times before, after all. Credit would be appreciated, of course, but you don't need my permission. I'm interested to see what you might do with it!

If anything should make a Wedge & Biggs deck as rebel pilots...
