Thoughts on EU deck: This deck is sick, and I don't think I mean that in a good way. This deck has some extremely unbalanced cards. But it is nicely balanced against having almost no defense. This deck is interesting to play, and it didn't turn out to be as unbalanced as I thought upon seeing its cards. But on the other hand, playing against this deck isn't much fun. It can make you throw away your hand if you have a bad draw or weak minors and there is very little you can do to stop it.
I would not suggest this deck for people who are just starting with expansion decks. But if you are a veteran, and are not playing with anyone who gets upset at "unfair" cards. Then this deck is very interesting, and balanced in its own twisted way.

Darth Malak by Docmogs/EU Expansion: I have to disagree. I think this is an outstanding deck and one of the best custom decks ever made. But, it does struggle against decks with power defense; Obi-Wan & Yoda for example. The discard game doesn't work against these decks. However, against a shooters, Malak should do very well. I like the deck for its originality and unique game play. I stand behind it 100% as being included in the EU Expansion. On it's face, it can seem overpowered. But, in reality that's not the case.

About Docmogs' Darth Malak deck (the same of the EU Expansion): I also dislike this deck. To be clear: I admit I really like the idea, concept and design behind the deck, the deck works (i't not an easy job to create a valid and original red deck); but it is an 'all or nothing' deck and I simply don't like this style of play. It can destroy the opponent's hand without recover possibilities (and it is TERRIBLY frustrating) or, on the other side, it can take lethal damage and be annihilated before starting to play at all, due to his lack of defenses - mechanic which balances it, yes, but too radical in my opinion. For those reasons it has often horrible match ups versus characters with high defenses/power defenses and very simple match ups versus shooters or aggressive decks with not so many defenses. Furthermore I dislike the possibility to attack weak minors to cause hand loss to major characters.. it has no sense for me, also because the opponent cannot do anything to prevent that.

Note about my personal tweaks on customs: 'Power of the Dark Side' is A6 and discards 1 card at random; 'Burst of Speed' has become a power defence card with D3 and moves Malak 6 spaces after taking damage; 'Death Field' does damage to every character, allies included; 'Force Storm' discards a card at random plus a second card at choice and does 3 damage instead of 2 if both Sith Troopers have been destroyed. With those (absolutly personal) tweaks the deck results quite well balanced.

Yeah this deck is either hit or miss. It is annoying having to discard you hand from minor's being attacked. But in the end once you actually attack the guy he will fall down fairly easy, if the discarding wasn't so bad. My review is this deck is the emperor of the Eu only seasoned players should try him out. I guarantee you play malak with a newbie and you sill how quickly they leave the game =).
